Statement

Hamid's paintings are actually windows that he tries to open on what he calls the aberrations of the world. He dares to put faces in the windows of incommunicability, faces to the gates of oppression ...

"...I introduced Arabic writing into my painting, aware that my approach is aimed at a human identity.  I am by no means contemptuous.  As a believer I write to denounce the excess of religious power.  As a man, I paint to denounce the excess of political power.

In a world where human relations are reduced to relations of competition and strength: I write and paint to denounce the aberrations and conditioning of which many of my fellow human beings (believers or not, black or white) are victims..."
