The painting is the first in the new cycle inspired by Robion's new novel. Between 1940 and 1942, Yves wrote Renée hundreds of letters about the Occupation, Brittany, Paris where both were students, train trips, village festivals, physics notebooks and especially love. The last of these letters, a marriage proposal, surprises with its comminatory tone. Time, suspended but jealous of its secrets, is cut, put under the magnifying glass by the artist who isolates in the raw text written words that she integrates into the music of the color that illuminates her strange drawings.
